As The Blue Train continued its journey through Africa, our next stop was Egypt\u2014an ancient land steeped in history and mystique. Abeni and I eagerly discussed the marvels awaiting us, especially the famed pyramids and the enigmatic charm of the country.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Lucy, you’re about to witness one of the world’s greatest architectural wonders\u2014the Pyramids of Giza,\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Abeni said with excitement twinkling in her eyes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The anticipation built within me as I imagined standing before these ancient structures that had stood the test of time. As we approached Cairo, the city of a thousand minarets, the silhouette of the pyramids appeared on the horizon, an awe-inspiring sight against the desert landscape.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Disembarking from The Blue Train, we made our way to the Pyramids of Giza. The sheer enormity of these monumental structures left me speechless. As I stood before them, I couldn’t fathom the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians who built these colossal edifices thousands of years ago.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Amidst the intriguing allure of the pyramids, Abeni shared captivating stories about the culture and history of Egypt. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018The pyramids were built as tombs for the Pharaohs and were constructed with remarkable precision. Some of the stones used in the pyramids weighed several tons, and the techniques used to transport and place them remain a mystery to this day.\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

As we explored the ancient site, I marvelled at the intricate hieroglyphs and the grandeur of these architectural marvels that had stood tall for millennia.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, our adventure took an unexpected turn when we stumbled upon a cobra resting near the base of one of the pyramids.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abeni swiftly guided me away, explaining, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Cobras are revered in Egyptian mythology and were symbols of royalty and divine protection. They’re not to be disturbed.\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I couldn’t help but feel a mix of awe and caution as I watched the cobra, appreciating its significance in Egyptian history and mythology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the momentary thrill, the pyramids left an indelible mark on my soul\u2014a testament to the ancient wisdom and ingenuity of this magnificent civilization.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the sun set over the pyramids, casting a warm glow over the desert, I boarded The Blue Train once more, reflecting on the wonders I had witnessed in Egypt. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And with the knowledge that no one could ever take away all the memories I had made in Africa, I started to eagerly await my journey towards home. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the time came to say goodbye to Abeni, Africa and the Blue Train, I could not help but shed a few tears, but also smile, thinking about William and friends I hadn\u2019t seen in such a long time. <\/span>
